Piano Lessons at Melody's Piano Studio:
What to expect:
Whether your lessons are online or in person, a typical lesson will look something like this:
The student plays what he or she has practiced. We work on any difficult areas and technical improvement. I introduce new lesson material, asking questions to make sure my student understands. We work on music theory, sight reading, good posture, and helpful practice techniques.
I expect my students to practice every day, just as I do. It is the only way to become proficient.
Payment:
Payment will be due monthly. You may pay online using the "Buy" button on this webpage, TakeLessons.com, Zelle or PayPal. You may request to use another payment method if you are scheduling in-person lessons.
Lesson Cancellation Policy:
If you provide 48 hours' notice, or have a medical emergency, you may reschedule cancelled lessons. No call/no show lessons will not be rescheduled or reimbursed.
Location:
I teach online using the Zoom app, or in person in my home studio in Rogersville, TN.
Online Lessons:
You will need to purchase books before your first lesson. Please contact me, so we can discuss what books to order. We will use lesson and theory books from Alfred's Basic Piano Library as our primary lesson material. You can find them on Amazon or at your local music store.
You will also need to set up your computer, tablet or phone, for a good view of your piano or keyboard. If you contact me about it, I am happy to help you with this before your first lesson, so that we do not have to spend time during the first lesson on set-up. If you do not yet have a piano or keyboard, let me know and I can give you some tips for choosing a good quality instrument.
Studio Lessons:
I have a limited number of lessons available in my home studio. Contact me if you are interested, and I will let you know if there are any openings.
You may purchase your lesson and theory books from me at your first lesson, or you can contact me to discuss which books to buy ahead of the lesson.
Recitals:
Students may send recordings to Melody's Piano Studio be posted on YouTube and Facebook.
